Fishing Report 7/18-7/25

For late July, the bite all around has remained great for us. We have been crushing over slot size bass almost every morning locally which has been fantastic, and watching the acrobatic show of a striped bass destroying a bunker… nothing better. With the constant rain and fog that we have experienced the last week or two, the water temperatures everywhere have dropped, which is great for bass fishing! On the way back into the river, we have seen water temps drop from 78 degrees to 72-74 degrees in some places, which is prime bass temperature. We have also run into a lot of bass new to the sound, and covered in sea lice. Another great sign for hopefully a stellar fall bass season. Bottom fishing was slower this week as I only got out twice, some massive porgies hit the deck but not the crazy seabass days that we all hope for!
