This past week of fishing has been excellent! The water temperature at the mouth of the CT river is sitting around 70-71 degrees and continues to rise. We are starting to see some bigger fish being caught out at the mouth of the river and on some local reefs. Most of the bigger fish have been found on the reefs. It is still a little early, but the heat of the season will be upon us before we know it. We have found almost all of our luck fishing with live bunker. Free swimming has primarily been the go-to method this past week, but we 3-wayed some bunker on the bottom a handful of times in some deeper water. The bait situation has still been hard as there is not as much of it filtering into the river now as there was last year. That being said, those who can find the bait, can find the fish! I will be posting open boat dates for this week shortly! Stay tuned @Twenty4SevenGuide on Facebook and Instagram.
