Fishing Report 6/12-6/18

The fishing report for this week contains similar information to last week. Striped Bass fishing in the river has been on fire this past week. We have been seeing some huge feeds on schools of bunker all throughout the river. Bunker is starting to become easier to find for those who know how to get it- and live bait is still the ticket item for angling more quantity and quality stripers. The fishing outside on the reefs remains good, but not consistent. There are a lot of fish in the sound, we have just found them to be finicky and lockjaw at some spots during some tides. The fish in the river are getting bigger by the day. Black seabass fishing is still good. Filling the cooler with big blue heads if you get on the fish at the right tide. A simple dropper rig with squid seems to be the most efficient means of catching them. The Fluke bite is also good here. We are starting to see bigger fluke being caught both locally and offshore in Block Island. I have been using m3 and Nichols spoons on a 3-way for most of the Fluke fishing I have done. It has been productive. Stay tuned for next weeks report! #Twenty4SevenGuide
