The striped bass are still here and settled in to the sound for the summer. The “hot bite” has ended as the water temperatures continue to rise with this heat wave we have suffered through this past week. The bass bite in the river is still there but pretty slow. Water temperatures in the river have been seen as high as 85-86 degrees. Most of the fish we catch come back tired and do not put up much of a fight. There are still plenty of fish to be caught outside the river on different reefs and riplines. The water temperature outside is sitting in the mid 70s and we are still seeing big bass actively feeding on all sorts of baits. The Fluke bite remains consistent as it was the past couple weeks. We had a good trip on Saturday and produced a good amount of keepers. I have not spent much time bottom fishing for much else other then Fluke as the majority of my time has been spent Striped Bass fishing. There is still time to catch the fish of your life in BLock Island! The bite there is still good and we are pulling out much larger fish then we are locally. #Twenty4SevenGuide
